First day of kindergarten
It seems these little girls are growing up. I have never been a Mom that dwells on things or is saddened by the idea of her kids growing. I get excited for new adventures, friends and routines for them. I think its important for them to experience change, it helps them grow and understand that life can be so much more then it is at this very moment. We decided to let them have different teachers. We think it's important for them to have their own identities, friends and experiences. Besides, I think a break from one another is a good thing. At first itwas a bit of an issue because they are so used to doing the same things they couldn't understand why one got recess that day and the other didn't. Or why they read different books in class and discussed different topics. Now they have settled into a nice routine with it and understand. They even ask each other what they did that day.

An August update
Not a whole lot going on in our little world. Tom took the girls to ride their first pony. They were so excited they counted down the days until Uncle Tom Day, every 5 minutes. I asked them "Now, you aren't going to get there and be all scared are you?" they both replied "No! We are EXCITED!". I went along just to take a few pictures and then I left, but as soon as they got out of the truck, there was a bit of hiding and trepidation. They both got over it quickly and absolutely loved Shorty, their companion for the afternoon. I left as they went off to put the saddle on and ride some more. When they got home I heard rushed, excited narrations of their rides, how to direct the horse, yelling whoa! and pulling the reins to make him stop, and feeding the bigger horses.
