Mr. Sheldon is the newest addition to our family. Since he's only 5 weeks old, he plays for about 30 minutes and then sleeps for 2 hours. The girls are a bit rough with him so we have to pay close attention to them when he is out. Gabrielle wants to carry him around, upside down, around his hips. Bless his heart!

First day of kindergarten
It seems these little girls are growing up. I have never been a Mom that dwells on things or is saddened by the idea of her kids growing. I get excited for new adventures, friends and routines for them. I think its important for them to experience change, it helps them grow and understand that life can be so much more then it is at this very moment. We decided to let them have different teachers. We think it's important for them to have their own identities, friends and experiences. Besides, I think a break from one another is a good thing. At first itwas a bit of an issue because they are so used to doing the same things they couldn't understand why one got recess that day and the other didn't. Or why they read different books in class and discussed different topics. Now they have settled into a nice routine with it and understand. They even ask each other what they did that day.

An August update
Not a whole lot going on in our little world. Tom took the girls to ride their first pony. They were so excited they counted down the days until Uncle Tom Day, every 5 minutes. I asked them "Now, you aren't going to get there and be all scared are you?" they both replied "No! We are EXCITED!". I went along just to take a few pictures and then I left, but as soon as they got out of the truck, there was a bit of hiding and trepidation. They both got over it quickly and absolutely loved Shorty, their companion for the afternoon. I left as they went off to put the saddle on and ride some more. When they got home I heard rushed, excited narrations of their rides, how to direct the horse, yelling whoa! and pulling the reins to make him stop, and feeding the bigger horses.
Today was wacky hair day at daycare and this is how the girls went

2010 Delaware State Fair
I have decided that the fair should come in October. The end of October to be exact. I'm sure anyone who has attended the Delaware State Fair on a balmy July evening would agree with me. Gabrielle and Morgan are really coming into their own personalities. Don't get me wrong, they have always been their own little person but it seems the differences are becoming bigger and bigger. Morgan wanted to ride the thrilling rides like the roller coaster, tower of terror, and the kiddie Pirate Ship. Gabrielle preferred the more tame choo choo train, motorcycles, and boats (bikes and boats that mildly turn in a circle, mind you). I felt terrible because when we got home at 10 that night, I discovered that Morgan had a fever of 101.3. Well, that explains the grumpiness huh? She was sick for the next week, made two trips to the Doctor and missed her field trip at daycare. Thankfully, she survived and is back at daycare. They each keep asking when the Fair will return and when I tell them "Next July", I hear them singing a song about the months to figure out how long that is. Next I hear "THAT TAKES FOREVER!"
Uncle Adam took them to see the side shows
The Fun House. Now I knew this was a bad idea, but everyone said they'd do fine. Morgan did. Gabrielle did not. Three times she got in and got stuck and had to be led out. Their friends Jillian and Shea were in with them and tried to lead her to the end but she kept getting freaked out by the glass. You will see in one of the pictures, Shea is pushing her through.
Teacups! Morgan laid down, silly girl!
Gabrielle on the Cho Cho Train, she was thrilled!

Hello Kitty!
Oh man was it HOT! 97 degrees with a heat index of 108 and no sign of a breeze any where. We thought about moving the party, we couldn't find anywhere indoor, we thought about another weekend, it just wouldn't work out. So there we were, sweating, wiping, panting and trying to pretend we weren't. The kids enjoyed the pool, a few adults too, but for the most part the adults camped out under 2 easy ups surrounded by fans. It was a great idea, and the fans did provide a bit of relief, but it was the kind of heat where the only real relief is AC. The party started at 1 and I thought it would be best to get everything out of the way early on so that no one would feel obligated to remain until cake or presents. By 2:30, there was just a few guest left and they were all in the pool. The girls really enjoyed themselves and we really appreciate everyone sticking it out.
Im so impressed at how well they are doing in the pool this year. Last year they would cling to the closest person and swear if the let go they were sure "to get drownded". This year they are swimming alone with no floaties on. Morgan can swim underwater for a pretty good distance. Gabrielle will go under but hasn't quite mastered the motion of swimming yet. Im sure that will change soon though.
Because of the running around, I didn't get to take many pictures but here is what I got. Enjoy!

Hello Kitty Cake mmmmmmmmm
Morgan the daredevil!
Yes, this is the proper way to wear nose plugs, just ask them, they will tell you
Silly faces!
Morgan has learned to "cannonball"

2010 Annual 4th of July Kentucky Trip
Each year we start this vacation out with Kelly's family in Northern Kentucky where they throw a heck of a 4th of July party. This year I missed the fireworks because Gabrielle had an accident and I had to take her back to the house to get cleaned up and by the time that was done we'd pretty much missed them. Morgan stayed and watched the whole show for the first time. She even said she liked them. Lets hope she still feels the same next year when they roll around! First up on any trip to Aunt Minni's is White Castle or Gold Star Chili, so of course we hit White Castle for dinner Friday night after we arrived. Saturday was a lazy day with a trip to Gold Star for lunch then back to Aunt Minni's to get ready for the annual BBQ and fireworks show.
Sunday we went to see Uncle George and Aunt Maryann for an afternoon BBQ. Emily came over and brought Baby Taylor who is so freakin cute! Uncle George and Aunt May gave the girls' their birthday gifts, a stuffed Eeyore and a Winnie the Pooh book for Gabrielle (she calls him Theodore) and a stuffed Tigger and Winnie the Pooh book for Morgan. The girls enjoyed ice cream sandwiches and discussing pine cones with Uncle George and cats with Aunt May.
Monday we went to the Children's Museum in Cincinnati with Stephyne, Chris, Cadence and Cailyn. It was not at all what we expected it to be! It was like a giant play room. All three of the big girls had a blast playing with balls, looking at dinosaurs, pretending to be vets, working in a grocery store (Gabrielle got to fulfill her dream of being a cashier girl!), working at a dinner and as a construction worker. Cailyn seemed to enjoy watching everyone around her. We then headed to the mall for a bit where the girls got to ride the carousel and play in the play area. After that dinner at Smokey Bones. If you ever have a chance to eat there GO! The wings were AMAZING! Morgan will adamantly tell you that Smokey Bones is her favorite!
Tuesday was the Annual trip to the Newport Aquarium. Awesome place! Morgan freaked out a little at first about the big plexiglass tunnels you go through but was fine after a little bit. We got to see a ray shark being feed by a diver and it was pretty cool to watch. Morgan got her face painted with a huge pink dolphin, Gabrielle refused, she said she was scared. The following day, Gabrielle asked if we could go back to the Aquarium so she could have her face painted. Kids. :)
Wednesday morning we headed South to Pappaw's house. Of course upon arrival, Mammaw had prizes for them, pig, bunny, and chicken Webkinz, Littlest Pest Shop play sets and coloring books and crayons. While we were there Pappaw let the girls pick roses from the bushes out front and talked to them about the flowers. He keeps bees and sells the honey every year and let me tell you, its some YUMMY honey! Gabrielle was very interested in them and had him show her the supers. We took it pretty easy for the rest of the week and headed home on Saturday morning.
